EP privacy policy
EP is a practice tool. It is built so that what you record stays with you.
What stays on your device
Your recordings, transcripts, notes, bookmarks, scripts and settings are stored only on your device. EP has no accounts, no servers of its own, no analytics and no advertising, and it does not track you. We don't receive, see or store any of it.
Camera and microphone
EP uses the camera and microphone only while you record. The recording is saved on your device. EP asks for permission first, and you can withdraw it at any time in your system settings.
Transcription and reading aloud
Transcription runs on your device with a speech model you choose to download. Reading aloud uses the voices built into your device. Neither sends your audio or text anywhere.
The one thing that uses the internet
When you choose to download a transcription model, EP fetches it from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). Hugging Face can see the request, including your IP address, as any website would. EP sends no recordings, transcripts or personal information with it. After a model is downloaded, EP works fully offline.
Deleting your data
Deleting a recording in EP removes it and its transcript, notes and bookmarks from your device. Deleting the app removes everything EP stored. Downloaded models can be deleted in Settings.
Children
EP doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new date.
